The October Wedding!!!!

We had to make a wedding cupcake tower for this client and also a fruit tree display with serving fruits for guests!!!

The colours for the day were turquoise blue and gold, so we went with this colour concept for the cakes. The bride wanted something unique and affordable, so we came up with the idea of a wedding cupcake tower.

This is very popular in the United States and United Kingdom, following from the ever increasing demand for cupcakes. It affords clients with the option of providing guests with a variety of flavours and you can ensure that everyone gets a piece of cake each.

This cupcake tower came with about 200 cupcakes in a variety of flavours. Being chocoholics, the bride and groom requested for an 8" chocolate cutting cake was chocolate. The cutting cake is used for the traditional ceremony of the bride and groom cutting the cake as their first official duty together. Then it gets to the cute part, as opposed to cutting the traditional wedding cake, in this case, they both get to feed each other a cupcake, that has got to be the cutest thing ever in my own opinion.

The cupcakes were served to guests and some were boxed for the couple to give to close friends and family members.

On the day we also provided a fruit tree display as a dessert option, given that people have become more health conscious. The tree consisted of watermelons, red and green grapes, pineapples, oranges, paw paw and strawberries chilled on a bed of ice for preserving the fruits. This tree serves 150 guests, it could serve more at an additional fee.

Serving suggestions include ice cream, sweetened cream and chocolate sauce.

Independence Day Celebration

Hi everyone,

Its been an eventful month, so I am  just going to give an update of our activities at sprinkles and cocktails till date. Starting with the independence day celebration. I made a celebration cake for the green and white party held by Encomium magazine, unfortunately I could not attend the party due to other commitments.

The concept for the cake was to have the Nigeria flag as the base and the 52 number signifying the number of years of independence. The cake was then surrounded by 52 mini layered cakes in red velvet, chocolate and vanilla coated with a creamy butter cream and covered in green and white fondant.

We also made some yummy chocolate and vanilla cupcakes for Lolavita Hair in celebration of Independence day. Customers indulged in these decadent cupcakes, which were frosted in milk chocolate butter cream and cream cheese frosting, sprinkled with chocolate vermicelli, red/pink/white sugar hearts, silver dragees and multi-coloured sugar sprinkles as they browsed through the store and made purchases during the sale.
